Our Journey
Established through the vision of Pastor Benjamin.
Life Center Ministries stands as a living response to God's call to serve people beyond the walls of a building. What began in October 2006 and was formally established in June 2009 with 8 believers continues today with purpose, obedience, and an unwavering commitment to service. Our assignment has remained clear from the beginning: we must serve God and we must also serve our community.
When circumstances later required the suspension of weekly worship services, the vision did not retreat. Instead, Life Center Ministries intentionally refocused its efforts on outreach throughout the city of Jackson, Mississippi, strategically meeting real needs in real time. Life Center remains present in the lives of young people, displaced families, and individuals experiencing homelessness. Through consistent community engagement, authentic relationships, and hands-on service, Life Center Ministries operates with visibility, integrity, and effectiveness. For more than nineteen years, the vision has endured through faithfulness, presence, and measurable impact.
A Renewed Season

On February 23, 2025, while ministering in a local nursing home, Pastor Benjamin received clear confirmation that Life Center Ministries was entering a new season of alignment.
This is not a restart. This is a release.
Like the moment in John chapter 21, when obedience after disappointment led to abundance, this season reflects that same truth. Life Center Ministries now moves forward with renewed purpose, sharpened direction, and expanded reach. We are stepping ahead with clarity, compassion, and conviction. This is not something new. It is something seasoned, tested, proven, and ready to reap an abundant harvest.
Our Pastor
Pastor J. Benjamin, Sr.
Pastor J. Benjamin, Sr. is a Jackson, Mississippi native, a proud product of the Jackson Public School system, and a servant-leader whose life has been shaped by faith, service, and community impact. He began serving in ministry at the age of 13 and has since served in key leadership roles, including Director of Church Growth and Development and Executive Pastor of Operations with various church organizations.
Pastor Benjamin earned an associate's degree from Holmes Community College and a bachelor's degree from Jackson State University. He also holds a Master of Theology from Liberty University and is currently completing a second master's degree in Urban and Regional Planning at Jackson State University, with an expected graduation in Fall 2026. As a licensed insurance producer and insurance adjuster, he brings both professional expertise and a heart for service to the people and communities he serves.
For more than 30 years, Pastor Benjamin has worked throughout Jackson and surrounding communities to meet real needs with compassion, consistency, and action. He has organized and supported water and food drives, served individuals experiencing homelessness, and helped lead COVID-19 relief efforts during one of the most difficult seasons in recent history.
Pastor Benjamin has been married to Cheryl Benjamin since 2006, and together they are the proud parents of five children: Grace, Faith, Hope, Joy, and Jerone Jr. He continues to lead with clarity, compassion, and conviction, believing this season is not a restart, but the release of a tested, proven, and purpose-filled assignment ready to produce an abundant harvest.

Statement of Faith
What we believe.
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.” — Proverbs 3:5–7
The Bible
The Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, are the inspired Word of God without error in the original writings and are the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men and the divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life.
God
There is one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect, and eternally existing in three manifestations: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He died on the cross as the complete and final sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and now sits at the right hand of God as our High Priest and Advocate.
The Holy Spirit
The ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and, during this age, to convict men of sin, regenerate the believing sinner, indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for godly living and service.
Man
Man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is therefore lost. Only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained.
Salvation
The shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe. Only those who receive Jesus Christ by faith are born of the Holy Spirit and become children of God.
The Return of Jesus Christ
The personal, premillennial, and imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ is our hope and has a vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer.
Affirmation of Faith
Seven statements of what we hold to be true.
- We believe the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible written Word of God.
- We believe that there is only one God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
- We believe in the blessed hope, which is the rapture of the Church of God, which is in Christ, at His return.
- We believe that the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the precious blood of Jesus Christ.
- We believe that regeneration by the Holy Ghost is absolutely essential for personal salvation.
- We believe that the redemptive work of Christ on the Cross provides healing for the human body in answer to believing prayer.
- We believe that the baptism of the Holy Spirit, according to Acts 2:4, is given to believers who ask for it, and we believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy and separated life in the present world.

Heirs of the Promise Children Ministry
The Gospel speaks to every heart, at every age, and in every season of life. When children are introduced to the way of Christ early, they are surrounded by guidance, hope, and spiritual strength that can anchor them through life's challenges and decisions. At Life Center, we come alongside families with care and intention, helping to establish a strong foundation of faith that nurtures confidence, character, and lasting hope.
Heirs of the Promise is designed to create an environment where children can experience joy, wonder, and discovery as they learn Biblical truth in engaging, meaningful, and age-appropriate ways. Scripture reminds us of Christ's heart for children: “But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 19:14).
Called and Chosen Youth Ministry
Youth is a unique season of life marked by exploration, discovery, excitement, and growth. During these formative years, questions of identity, purpose, and belonging take shape. Life Center's Youth Ministry provides a Christ-centered environment where students are supported as they explore the world around them and the purpose God has placed within them.
Life Students serves students in grades 6–12 and exists to connect them to the life-changing power of God. Through relentless worship, relevant teaching, and real relationships, students are encouraged to develop a personal faith that is rooted in truth and lived with conviction. Scripture speaks clearly to the identity and calling of the next generation: “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light” (1 Peter 2:9).
Rooted & Restored | Women of Life
Rooted and Restored exists to support women as they grow in faith, experience healing, and walk confidently in the purpose God has placed within them. This ministry creates space for women to be firmly rooted in truth while being gently restored by grace, fostering spiritual depth, dignity, and discipleship in every season of life.
Through Biblical teaching, authentic community, and intentional encouragement, women are invited to strengthen their relationship with Christ and navigate life's joys and challenges with wisdom and resilience. Biblical Foundation: Proverbs 31:25 · Titus 2:3–5 · Psalm 46:5.
Iron & Faith | Men of Life
Iron and Faith exists to equip men to lead with integrity in their faith, families, work, and communities. This ministry is focused on developing spiritually grounded men who walk with humility, strength, and obedience to God in every area of life.
Through brotherhood, accountability, and Biblical instruction, men are challenged to grow in character, responsibility, and service. Iron and Faith encourages men to live faithfully, lead courageously, and remain steadfast in a world that often pulls them away from truth and purpose.
